This tutorial will show you how to add or remove Registration Entries (REG) to the New context menu for all users in Windows 10 and Windows 11.

A .reg file is registration entries that are text-based human-readable files for exporting and importing portions of the Registry.

The New context menu allows users to quickly create a new item in the current location.

The default New context menu items include to create a new Folder, Shortcut, Bitmap image, Text Document, Compressed (zipped) Folder, and Library.

If you like, you can add Registration Entries to the New context menu to make it easier for users to create a new REG file on demand.

You must be signed in as an administrator to add or remove Registration Entries on the New context menu.

note: os and os-user files were orginally installed on two different drives for reasons related to the content creation purpose for this computer. There are multiple additional hdd drives on this computer but it seems unnecessary to mention them as they are likely to be germane to the current problem.
