Advanced Shader Delivery Coming Soon across Windows 11

 DirectX Developer Blog:

In May, we expanded the public preview of Advanced Shader Delivery (ASD) across the AMD RDNA™ graphics architecture line. This month, we’re extending ASD to additional Windows devices powered by Intel, NVIDIA, and Qualcomm. To kickoff this rollout, we’re showcasing ASD support for Gears of War: E-Day.

Advanced Shader Delivery tackles two common PC gaming challenges: long first-launch wait times and shader-related stutter. By delivering precompiled shaders with the game download, ASD reduces the amount of shader work a player’s CPU has to do when the game starts. That helps games launch faster and reduces stutter tied to runtime compilation. By expanding GPU hardware support to all vendors, we’re ensuring that Windows players with a wide variety of existing hardware can experience this benefit. Check out the system requirements below for supported hardware.

Advanced Shader Delivery Comes to Gears of War: E-Day

Today marks early access to Gears of War: E-Day. We’ve worked closely with The Coalition to bring ASD support to the game across supported Windows devices. With ASD, shader compilation at first launch takes just a few seconds, compared to several minutes on a typical PC without ASD. ASD reduces shader compilation time by approximately 95%, helping players get into the game faster.

Gears of War: E-Day will be the first game to support ASD across the expanded Windows device ecosystem, bringing faster first launches and a smoother experience to players on Windows 11 devices powered by AMD, Intel, NVIDIA, and Qualcomm.

As the first title to showcase ASD across the expanded Windows ecosystem, Gears of War: E-Day marks the beginning of broader support for the technology. Stay tuned for future ASD updates, including support for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 and additional titles still to come.

Sorry folks but I had a good laugh at this -- seems branding by some corporates leaves them open to "mis-use" or redicule. I looked at the title and immediately thought of ShadIer delivery !!. (Shadier)
