I accidentally upgraded my stable Win 10 on my laptop to the latest Windows 11 about 2 weeks ago. (Don't ask how, it gets convoluted.) Unfortunately, I discovered my issues outside the 10-day uninstall period so now I'm stuck with Win 11.
I am a pro photographer and about half the time when I shoot, I tether via the USB 3 ports with my Canon EOS R5 and R cameras. I was shooting some product shots for a client a couple of days ago and I discovered that three out of four programs I use would not transfer captured images from the camera to the laptop. Live View worked, but when it came time to fire a frame, nothing transferred. The programs that don't work are Capture One, Smart Shooter 4, and DSLRemote. The ONLY program that still functions is Canon's EOS Utilities combined with Digital Photo Pro. Sometimes, one frame would be captured and transferred in those other programs, but often nothing. I discovered within the Capture One logfiles multiple PTP errors. I gather this is the protocol to transfer from the camera to the computer?? I also discovered that if I depressed the shutter button, the camera would say "BUSY".
Does anyone have a clue what might be going on. Normally, I'd post to camera forums. In fact, I did, but most photographers are not computer geeks as well as photographers and most use <gasp> Macs. (I've been building my own computers since the early 1980's. Does anyone remember MS-DOS? Windows 3.1?) Normally, I can sleuth my issues, but I'm stymied here. I've never come across something like this.
Thanks for the help.
