Solved AMD software adrenaline edition issue

Greetings,

I have a small annoyance with AMD Software. See screenshot.
I did a scan now and dsim restore health. Did a fresh install of AMD Soft but no go.

Any help is much appreciated. It seems the issue started occurring after the last Win update. Its just an annoyance because I click Ok and its still working fine.

Uninstall the Radeon software and then go to:


Download the display driver uninstaller there and run it.

After rebooting the PC, re-install a fresh copy of the Radeon software.

Since it is only an annoyance to you, you might not feel the need to fix it but here's what I believe will.

1. Download the most current driver package from AMD.

2. Use DDU in safe mode to remove all display divers AND their software package. Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) download version 18.0.7.0

3. Restart in normal mode and reinstall display drivers.

This is what this software does oc the memory or is what it does on my acer 17 nitro.

The only other item this app does is fish crap off the internet lol

Did the work and still the same issue.
I deactivated at start up a Radeon Task and the error message is gone.

Can this task remain off at start up ?

I think the issue may be from the UAC that is set on this rig at max. Any soft changing the system, the prompt shows and you need to approve the change (since at reboot, I am not seeing the prompt). Just a guess though. I am not really good with software

The purpose of Radeon™ Software is it allows users to adjust image quality and the level of detail in games. Since higher visual quality may impact performance, achieving an optimal gaming experience requires balancing visual quality and performance. The settings one selects is saved within a user profile within the software. This software also keeps your graphics driver up to date.

Can one stop Radeon software from running. Sure, you can. But if it's not running, the settings within the user profile are not used nor or drivers automatically updated.

You might want to check over on the AMD forum to see if others are having issue with the latest release of Radeon drivers/software. While on AMD site check to see if you are using the correct version of Radion applicable to your laptop.

after some troubleshooting, found out that Microsoft Store had install Radeon Software as well. I had also installed Radeon Software manually. The 2 conflicted. I removed the UWP Radeon Software and everything is now back to normal.

The big question is why Microsoft Store did the install of Radeon Software ?

I have no answer but did stop automatic update from Microsoft Store at this point.

Thanks for letting us know the solution to your issue.

I did not know that the MS Store even had Radeon software. I know Windows update installs a version of the Radeon drivers, until you install the Radeon software, which overwrites the MS Radeon drivers, but other than that ...

Hi,
Well drivers through update system is likely why it showed up

Like I said before amd software is needed to do some hardware features in my case oc memory to rated speed. glasser stated some other reasons.

Thing also is if the software installed from the store it auto updates not sure that can be stopped
Only way I know is to uninstall the app and reinstall from amd manually.
