Windows 11 Pro + Win11 Canary VM.
Thought we could do with a thread like the Raspberry Pi thread.

Just a thread that we can chat over things related to android phones rather than clogging up main threads.
Please don't clog up the thread with iphone stuff - we can create a separate iphone thread if this android thread is welcomed.

So here is my starter for 10.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, I decided to factory reset on an older Samsung A23 5G that I no longer use to give to a friend (she has a really old phone).

So was part way through the reset and I realised I had had a brain f#rt! I was resetting the wrong phone 🤪!!!!

Fortunately, I had made a full Smartswitch backup of that phone to my PC a few days ago.

Restoring the backup took around five minutes plus a further 30 mins processing the restoration.

Smartswitch is pretty good but is not a full image backup like on a pc.

You still have to reactivate things like bank accounts, MS Authenticator for example but that does not take that long.

I work in the mobile industry. I finally got my wife to switch to android 2 years ago when I got her a Pixel 8 Pro to replace her iphone 13. The final nail in the coffin to make her switch was the Ai transcription. We had a trial of an app on her iPhone, but it would cost like 59 bucks a month to use as much as she needed. The pixel 8 Pro had this as a standard feature. It took her 2 months after I got the phone for her to set it up and give it a go, now she says she will never have another iPhone (yay!).

I set up iPhones and all the major android players every day. I only ever have issues with iPhones. The worst issue i have with android is people downloading "cleaner" apps because facebook told them they had a "virus". Other than that it's all iPhones with the major issues. Never apple again.
