Any method for getting a genuine progress bar back?

Since Win 10, the old accurate progress bar was replaced with a an infinitely scrolling bar that tells you nothing. With the original, you knew more or less how much of a task had been completed. Is there any mod available that can return the original progress bar, please?

What progress bar do you mean?
- The progress bar that you see when a program is installed?
- The progress bar that a program shows when it is performing a task? Which program?
- The progress bar that is visible (or not) in the task bar when some program is performing a task or download.

So please specify what your problem is and/or post a screenshot.

Copying, pasting, and moving files still work correctly (blue progress bar). It's when I install/uninstall software that I get a green never ending bar going from left to right that tells me absolutely nothing. I'm not sure whether this started from Win 7 or Win 10 onwards, but it was never like this in XP and Vista.

They went from 0 to 100% whereas the current green bars go to 100% and start all over again in a never ending loop. What is the point in that?

100% is supposed to mean, that it is DONE! But no, still running on 100% for 30 mins. Technically, it should never show 100%. :think:

I would agree where Windows updates are concerned, but I rarely came across that with installation of other software.

The progress bar is just a default widget in the UI library. It's up to the developer to constantly update the status, and provide a slider percentage. So it's the fault of the devs who work on a Windows feature.

I merely wondered whether there may be some 3rd party addon or fix for this, because I could find nothing in the Windhawk repository, nor in WinAero Tweaker. So, I'm guessing there isn't.
