If you upgrade from Windows 10 or an earlier Windows 11 version and you already have a local Administrator account, then this is retained after the upgrade. If you do a clean installation there are workarounds to avoid using a Microsoft account and create a local Administrator account instead.

OneDrive isn't relevant here, so this isn't helping.

So @Djard it sounds like this worked all along, you just weren't checking which folder was actually opened?

I just noticed this thread.

I have moved my Documents folder to my data drive, D:\Documents. I moved it using the "official" method method, open the Documents properties and use the Move process.

I can create shortcuts of any folder or file in my Documents folder and the resolve correctly.
