set old photo viewer as default for all automatically so don't have to go through each one. (same for a lot of apps actually).

uninstall all the junk in one go? it's impsosible to remove these things from the UUPDOWNLOAD ISOs created for latest w11 preview.

Any way to set thse options with a reg file? I am sick of hearing super loud PING because system is always at 100% and I am constantly having to reset it, along with thunderbird and other things.

Thanks if anyone can help with any of this.

It would be nice if Insiders could have a look into this sound issue.
In fact, having to reset your personal adjustments each time is annoying.

Maybe the sound extension app Volumey keeps them.

The more Windows evolve, the more embedded apps are imposed.
The best editions which are devoid of most of them are the LTSC Enterprises ones.
But as I've read so far, Microsoft doesn't intend to release the first W11 one before 2025 (!)

On W10, some tweakers could be found on the web to remove these kind of apps, and surely a few already exist for W11, but I don't think you will find all the answers here, as many of them now ensure the system not to be considered as corrupted.

What is setting your volume at that level?

You can control volume with several utilities including
NirSoft NirCmd
For example, to set volume to 30% [of the 65535 max],
nircmd.exe setsysvolume 32767

Best of luck,
Denis

The problem is having to go through each filetype and doing that.. it's easier on the windows settings screen - but I still feel like there should be some registry way of inputting the 'correct' entries, maybe?

My sound is 100% 'master' and my speakers are setup so that listening to things on eg; youtube is normal level, but the system BEEP sound is super loud, and I'm so tired of having to set it to 1 all the time - it keeps resetting whenever windows detects a new sound output device and such.
