Anyone else leaving Windows 11

And waiting for at lest a year for MS to get there sh&% right? I'm dropping off the Windows 11 map for at least a year. It's a cool looking GUI but! To many thing give me issues. My Motto "If It Don't Work Don't use It" For the most part it dose to a point! But... It needs refinement and it's not for me right now. All my systems are back on Ghost Spectre Windows 10 21H1 Superlight. If you need a link, request it.

You don't have an image you can go back to? I reimaged my main system and did a clean install on my laptop. My TV system was not affected with 11. People look up to you here. You saying there's no option? There always is.

So far everything is working just fine out here, no glitches and no issues. I think I will sit it out until I need this PC for something else.

Well I have my Laptop to my liking and it is Lighting Fast. If I ever do install Windows 11, it will be a Ghost Spectre Build. My Main and TV system is just fine

So Im just now even hearing about Win11. I wish I could post the Picard Face Palm gif... cause thats all I could do when I heard about it. I don't honestly know much about it, but ALL information is pointing to an Apple approach to new tech "If you make it shiney and different, they will buy". Seriously, Win10 needs some improvements, but its become a... stable...ish... thing. But now Win11 will make it a. . . unstable...ish. . . thing thats shinier.
Am I about right here? @Lance1 - what were some of the more constant issues that you notice? I mean I use my system for work in graphics design using various Adobe programs on a ZBook x2. I use it for gaming, music, video, communication, networking/Bluetooth (Heavy on the file sharing/transfer between PCs on network), and I've recently become very very fond of VoiceAttack for verbal commands. Are any of these areas directly affected negatively?
Honestly though, it's still probably in it's first or second betas, and not the final beta huh?

The first was a leak. Now theirs a insider preview. There are a lot of issues mine being I can not install my favorite apps. The EXE will not start. There's a quick flash and nothing. That ended it for me.

I always keep back up ISO. My desktop, I run 11, but laptop have 10. Linux come up long way and not they have gnome boxes. Installing win in boxes is a breeze.

I used to be an early adopter of new operating systems, but these days I am a lot more patient.
There's much less pain involved. :wink:

not leaving 11. I'm only running it on one of my Intel Nuc's at the moment. Certainly not my daily driver or my gaming rig. Got nothing to lose having it running on this NUC. It's been sitting in my basement on a shelf for the past 6 months. At least now it's seeing some action.

I've got no major concerns with 11 right now.

I am staying and it is my main computer. No big deal unless there is some security lapse. But I have regular backups. I don't understand why someone would install this knowing this is an alpha release at best, then feel the need to do a goodbye post. :)

If it works OK (and apart from a couple of complaints e.g I don't like the file explorer arrangements) I can't see any point in going "backwards" -- and whatever Ms say about TPM / Sec boot and the like if 100,000's of machines are running W11 there's no way on the planet that they are going to force these machines back to W10. Updates might stop but that's about it.

For Enterprise and work type machines that's another story -- I haven't yet seen any W11 Enterprise version to test -- I couldn't get the UUPDUMP with W11 enterprise as one of the "extra editions" to work so I suppose just waiting on that one.

I can't understand these people who say "I can't go back because I've no ISO / image".

Surely now on all these Forums people have been urging others "Ad Nauseam" to BACK UP THEIR SYSTEMS REGULARLY (caps intended). With all the free tools out there and in most cases around 15 mins work why on earth don't people do it and then still moan about not being able to revert / undo something.

So far seems to me W11 performs quite decently - no complaints on that score and for once Networking seems to work sraight OOB (even if you still need SMB1 for access to some older NAS systems).

For me there is no need to "go back" - I never even thought about overwriting my main system with this beta. I have Windows 11 on a separate drive and will be playing with it when I have time. I will certainly not convert my main system to 11 before an official release. From threads like this I gather that some people just jumped head first and made this beta their only OS. I'm not sure why would anyone do that.

You can always go to Microsoft website and download and create a Windows 10 Bootable USB and install Windows 10 again.

This isn't a Beta Version. It's an Insider Preview. I am one of those that installed it and i'm using it as my everyday driver. It's not given me any problems at all. IF it does, then i'll just go back to Window 10 for a while. I don't mind doing fresh installs. My computer takes literally 10 minutes to do a complete format and fresh install. The longest part is reinstalling all of my software.

They can also get the Windows 10 ISO Image from Microsoft and create their own bootable USB or DVD image.
