Anyone find a way to "unlock" the taskbar?

I was trying to figure out if there is an equivalent to the Windows 10 lock and unlock the taskbar so that you could change how tall it is to accommodate 2 rows of icons. If that option is available I'm missing it. I don't really need it right now, just curious what happens when you put a really lot of stuff on the taskbar.

Another thing - I know that you can move it to the left corner, but I'm really trying to get used to having the Start button centered on the screen. The problem is that I find myself constantly automatically moving to the left corner just out of pure muscle memory. Anyone else experiencing that?

Right click on taskbar and in settings and in "taskbar behavior" you can center or move to the left

Still assembled, still runs. Haven't turned it on for 13 years?
If you fill up the taskbar then the next icon you pin creates a vertical bar and the app icon appears to the right. If you add further icons then the new icon replaces the one before and so on
Is this the 'Taskbar corner overflow menu' and if not then what is 'Taskbar corner overflow menu'?
If I keep pinning apps to the taskbar then how do I see the complete list of apps that are 'off' the normal taskbar?
Why is it not apparently possible to increase the taskbar to two rows??

Unfortunately, MS has the taskbar locked to 1 row of icons and not able to autohide.

In fact, the taskbar is static, but there is stuff behind it that can't be reached. Very annoying, especially when there is an "apply" or "OK" button behind the taskbar. Entering doesn't always equal clicking on the hidden button on some websites.

I beg to differ. Even though there is a setting, the taskbar does not autohide even if the checkbox is checked.

Wel then you need to report that, it is obviously a bug that needs to be fixed
Considering that this release is way premature, I'll give 'em a couple months to finish the product. This Insider version has MANY problem areas. I can wait until another version is released. I'm sure that most, if not all, of these problems will be corrected in future releases.

MS never comes out with a finished product right from the start. They present concepts and go from there. Given how solid this has been so far they've done a decent job, IMO

In MY experience, this does not happen. Any overflow icons don't appear no matter where I put the mouse pointer, right or left click.

I'm just gonna be patient and wait for more Insider releases. I'm sure all these taskbar issues will be fixed by the time Win11 goes "live."
