Solved Anyone try the new backup features that came out today?

The backup program supposedly now includes the ability to transfer setting, files, account settings, etc. to a new PC over the local network without needing the cloud.

It wants you to enter the name of the "old" PC on the new PC but I see no possible way of entering a name anywhere. I know that the banner specifically says that this feature is in testing, but how much testing can you do when you cannot even set it up?

I was not expecting articles on this feature so quickly. But this will be wonderful, especially for those of us using local accounts, and even more so if this can really be done during OOBE.

MS backup solutions "never" work. :cool:



They start out all new and shiny, promising the moon... then immediately take the... highway to deprecation.

Seriously I agree with comments above, relying on MS backups isn't a great idea.
