Nothing wrong with Macrium. The only thing I would say is that on the one device I use it on, I refused the update to v8 and stuck with 7. On that device, V7 just works better. I did try 8 but wound up uninstalling it. The device runs 32 bit Windows 10 and does not need the things in 8 that are mostly for Win 11 compatibility.
V8 has much better partition handling features and menus are improved somewhat.
I want to be proficient in both Macrium and Aomei. That way I can give my students a choice.
Maybe but V7 works better on that device which has an eMMC storage drive.

On one of my laptops, a usb ssd will write at speeds of 250 MB/S whereas an hdd is around 100 Mb/s. So a 80 GB backup will take 320 secs on an ssd but 800 second o an hdd. You also have to factor in cpu time to compress files.

Both images were to the USB SSD. My desktop has 1 USB 3.1 Gen 2 type-C and 1 USB 3.1 Gen 2 type A. I used the USB C port. Both times are less than half the time it takes when I used my USB HDDs.
I am a little surprised by speed difference between Reflect and AOMEI. Whenever I tried them, the time difference was not that great. Did you have verification on in both cases?
Verification was only turned on in Macrium. I now have it turned on in AOMEI.
What are the times in AOEMI?
Starting with v8 Reflect also has several languages available, with more to come (apparently).
I won't be making another backup of desktop until next week. I will be making a backup of my laptop later today. To test AOMEI I'll have to install the free version.
