Every where you look now, people use AI to describe their clever software.
To me what people describe as AI are merely heuristic learning algorithms.
It seems to me people (including computing courses) have retroactively redefined AI to meet their objectives.
One of the key features of intelligence is to extrapolate beyond available information and draw conclusions. Children are an absolutely perfect example of this.
None of these so called program implementations come close to passing the Turing Test.
I will believe AI has been achieved the day the software replies "I'm taking a day off to watch the cup final" without some algorithm already written, waiting for a trigger to activate it.
So guys/gals - do you think true AI exists or is it all just marketing hype?
