TAIPEI, Taiwan, April 24, 2026 — ASUS today announced the availability of the ROG Strix XG27UCG Gen2 (XG27UCGR), the ROG Strix XG27UCS Gen2 (XG27UCSR), and the TUF Gaming VG27UQEL5A gaming monitors.

These gaming monitors feature 27-inch 4K Fast IPS panels with a 0.3ms response time (minimum) for crisp visuals and smooth high-frame-rate gameplay. Each monitor offers a Dual Mode feature that enables gamers to easily switch between high-resolution visuals and high refresh rates. When set to the high-refresh-rate mode, Smart Pixel technology intelligently enhances every frame with advanced 4K upscaling, enabling gamers to experience ultrasmooth gameplay and sharper, more vibrant visuals with greater levels of detail, even at lower resolutions. ASUS Extreme Low Motion Blur Sync (ELMB Sync) enables the integrated ELMB to work simultaneously with variable refresh rates to eliminate ghosting and tearing for exceptionally-clear motion. The monitors are VESA DisplayHDR™ 400-certified for enhanced contrast and brightness.

Versatile Dual Mode

ASUS and ROG constantly raise the bar with the introduction of cutting-edge display technologies and user-friendly features to meet a wide range of user needs — from gaming and entertainment to daily work tasks. The Dual Mode feature gives gamers ultimate versatility, providing the benefits of a high-resolution monitor and a high-refresh-rate monitor in a single unit. Gamers can easily switch to ultrafast refresh rates for competitive FPS gameplay or stunning 4K visuals for cinematic streaming, immersive AAA gaming, or efficient productivity.

ROG Strix XG27UCG Gen2 and ROG Strix XG27UCS Gen2

The ROG Strix XG27UCG Gen2 is a 27-inch 4K monitor with Dual Mode, allowing users to switch between 4K@162Hz and FHD@485Hz visuals for superfast FPS gaming, immersive AAA games, or daily entertainment. Similarly, the ROG Strix XG27UCS Gen2 offers 4K@160Hz and FHD@324Hz. Both monitors boast an ultrafast 0.3ms response time (minimum), delivering enhanced performance over the previous gen XG27UCG / XG27UCS monitors’ 1ms gray-to-gray (GTG) time. In addition, the XG27UCG Gen2 features Aura Sync lighting on its rear panel.

Built-in ASUS Smart Pixel technology provides advanced 4K-level upscaling to deliver imagery with sharper detail and enhanced clarity, even at lower resolutions. With VESA DisplayHDR™ 400 compliance, a cinema-standard 95% DCI-P3 and 130% sRGB color gamut, along with rigorous factory calibration, the XG27UCG Gen2 provides exceptional color accuracy and vibrant visuals, ensuring lifelike and immersive viewing experiences, making it ideal for gaming as well as photo and video editing.

Interested, there aren't that many 4K 27" inch monitors. Most are 32 which is too big for me

I've had a 60Hz Asus 4K 28 inch for some time, it's done me well
