Seems I had a media player years ago, maybe back in Win XP or Win 7 era that would display song titles.

It wasn't a problem that I didn't have a PC media player that listed the title as I always validated burned audio CD's in my car CD player that did display CD title, artist and song titles. That is gone as my new car does not have a CD player.

I've tried several media players and they all just list "Track number".

I was going to try AIMP and see if it displays but it is "blocked by Administrator" and I'm not going to circumvent that so it is out.

That is with a commercial CD and the programs are able to access the on-line data base.

What I create are originals from my recording studio for clients. The CD Title, Artist and song titles are all written on the disc. (burned "DAO" with Nero BurningRom).

Here is a screenshot of WMP for one of my CD's.

@fireberd Have you tried MP3Tag? It allows you to edit the song and artist information on MP3 files so it displays properly. I have to use it once in a while to make songs show up in my car display. Music that I record myself has no MP3 tag info, so I have to add it manually.

I can't remember where I got MP3Tag at the moment, but I will search around and try to find a link for you.

Here it is:

I'm making full "Red Book" compliant audio CD's, not MP3's.

What format are your Masters?
You'd have to add the metadata to those first, then burn them to CD.

As previously noted, full Red Book compliant audio CD's. Years ago I had a media player that did show the song titles. Don't remember what it was, as it was in the XP/Vista/Win 7 era.

Also as noted car CD players that are capable of displaying data, show all the disc info, CD (Album) Name, Artist, Song Titles, there should be a media player that does too.

Edit/added: If I create a master CD for a recording studio client that is going to have CD's commercially produced, I'm required to create it the same way, to the Red Book standard.

Have you checked the software option to write text to CD is checked. I know Roxio Creator NXT had that option as I used it. I don't create my own music, but I've created quite a few personalized compilation CDs and the album, track title, etc info displays in any player the CD is read from. Here's the Nero Option...

Nero CD Text Option.jpg

There might also be an option to write a hidden file to the CD containing said info.

Addition - I guess it depends on the media player? This disc can be read from my car's CD player, but Windows Media Player doesn't show said info. JRiver sees the info though....

I found AIMP installed on an old Win 10 laptop.

AIMP reads data from CD and displays it. CD Title, Artist and song titles.

WMP (Legacy) definitely doesn't have CD-Text support built in. And judging by Dru2's screenshot, neither does the new Windows Media Player app. However, you can still add CD-Text support to the legacy one by installing the WMPCDText plug-in.

Most media players get the CD text data from an on-line database, not directly from the CD, That is/was my problem with media players, until I found AIMP which does read, and display, the data on the CD. My specific problem was resolved with AIMP.

Ive been using MediaMonkey from it's early times, and never found anything that has it's versatility or power, The free version can handle most needs and can also use addons for CD creation. I use the Pro version which is well worth the money.
It can easily handle huge collections and "moulded" into whatever is needed - It's also a great flac format player and has handled everything and anything I've thrown at it

Media Monkey has a lot of features, but most either I already have or don't need. The reason for wanting a media player that read and displayed the data written on discs (CD Title, Artist and Song titles) is to verify audio CD discs for my recording studio clients are burned properly.
