BBC Code

I was trying to post a link in another thread that would lead the person to a site to help him try and get the Classic Win 10 Taskbar Right Click options. If I pasted this https://www.askvg.com/tip-restore-w...-in-windows-11-along-with-classic-start-menu/ it would take him to it.

I wanted to make it be more explicit so I looked up how to use BBC Code, which I thought this site allows but when I posted this Classic Taskbar Settings it displayed the words and they were underlined indicating a link. Hopefully that show the same here. Only when clicking on it, it went to a page that said"Access Denied."

Did I use incorrect syntax or does this forum not allow BBC Code? If it is allowed, why then the "Access Denied" message? The code I used is above this paragraph with added spaces so it can be seen and not display Classic Taskbar Settings.

The link you clicked on ends with two // characters, the valid link should just have one, like this:


Not sure how you ended up with the extra / but that was what broke the link.

Thank you so much. I don't know how I got that extra / either because in both pastes I copied it from the actual site.

When copying links and other 'code snippets' it is a good idea to paste them into a plain text app (Notepad for example) to see exactly what characters are there and review/ change before use.
Sometimes people copy then paste direct into Command, PowerShell or Terminal and the code they copied differs from the code displayed by the web site/ code box, which can lead to undesired results.
