Hi all,

I have just noticed in Windows 11 Disk Management I have a 32MB Virtual Disk called Bitdefender Virtual Disk.

Not much online and no answer from the Bitdefender forum. Anyone have any ideas?

Is the Bitdefender virtual disk legit? - Expert Community

Hello, I never created this; it has been there for idk couple of months probably. Included screenshot of properties: is this from Bitdefender or the system is hacked? If it is from Microsoft, are they allowed to use the name Bitdefender? Please let me know if additional info needed. Thanks.

I read them, as that's about all I could find. they refer to the free version. I don't think it should be, as my other 2 system running the same BD version has not got it or that I have ever saw it. all BD are configured the same. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling BD as suggested but after a few reboots the VD is back.

Hi Ghot, I went to the BitDefender Forums to ask. I got an answer from the forum Admin "Yeah that's strange.. I guess it this persists, it will be necessary to reach out to Bitdefender Support." The next day I got another answer from the QA Manager "Our engineers confirmed that the VHD is now being used to enhance online threat detection. This feature was recently deployed".

Tak stručně a prakticky: není třeba nic dělat, je to bezpečné a běžné, disk je jen interní součást Bitdefenderu.
