BitLocker Recovery Key Missing on HP Pavilion – How to Restore Drives?

Hello everyone,

I bought an HP Pavilion laptop from a US website. Both my C and D drives are now locked by BitLocker.
I never had a personal Microsoft account connected to a BitLocker Recovery Key, but the system is now asking me for one.

I have tried every possible option: checked Microsoft account, Azure AD, BIOS settings, and attempted recovery through Command Prompt and Disk Manager — but nothing worked.
At this point, I can only access the system using a Live CD.

Unfortunately, I cannot reach Microsoft Support.
Is there any way to restore access to these drives and keep my data?
If anyone has experience recovering a BitLocker key or alternative solutions, please share your advice.

Welcome to the forum. Without a recovery key, the drives can not be unlocked nor the data on them recovered. You can, however, wipe the drives and clean install windows.

and see if the bitlocker key is there
if the key isnt there you are going to have to re-install

if you use Rufus to burn the Windows install ISO to USB key drive
you can disable bitlocker in the setup before you create the bootable USB.
