Hi all,
So I went to boot up as normal earlier and just got a black screen,I powered down and rebooted and everything seemed to be fine,I had a issue earlier today where my vive pro headset wouldn't come on,so I out of curiosity did a scannow, and it's came back saying some files were corrupt and it couldn't repair,I've posted a link to the log on here,I was just wondering, should I be worried or just ignore it? system seems to be running fine atm,I'm just looking for some advice.

A lot of times, just re-seating the RAM will fix black screen problems.
This is assuming the vid card, cable and monitor are all OK.

Run this in an elevated command prompt...

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

When it finishes, reboot the computer, then run sfc /scannow ...again.

And, I gave you ten cookies, just for filling out your computer specs. :-)

Assuming Windows is on the C:\ partition...

In an elevated command prompt, run... chkdsk c: /r

Computer will need to reboot to run chkdsk on the Windows partition.
On a 1TB NVMe SSD I'd guess it will take about 30-60 minutes to complete.

Yeah... you have to reboot. It should ask you to do so.

Just answer with a "Y" and the comp will restart and run chkdsk.

The "process" that is using the volume is... Windows, which is why the comp needs to reboot to run it.

Mine says the same thing... look at the pic I posted.
Trust me... just run chkdsk c: /r

...and answer "Y" and let it do it's thing.

We will still be here when it's finished. :-)

When you get a CRC error (cyclic redundancy check)... the 1st thing you need to do is run chkdsk. ^^

Would I lie to a Harley guy? :D

If Windows is on the SATA SSD, then it might be the SATA data cable or the SSD.
When you get CRC errors on an NVMe SSD... it's pretty much gonna be a problem with the file system on the SSD.

Relax. :-)
It's gonna go through five stages. As I mentioned above... on an NVMe 1TB you're looking at 30-60 minutes.
Go make a sandwich, or order a pizza. :-)

Right I just got back in win, I'll post the log tomorrow as it's midnight and I'm knackered! @Ghot that made me laugh BUT I use the name for a very different reason, short story is,I used to be a dog walker for a rescue,I walked a stray every weekend for two years, and then I was going to adopt him,but the weekend before I did,I noticed he didn't seem right, told the staff, rang in hte week and was told he was fine, went up on hte staurday and found he had passed away from kidney failure!!! this was 1998 and I've never forgot him,and by now you can guess, and yes,his name was Harley, which is why I use the name, to just keep his memory alive.
Will post rest tomorrow!
