Solved Blank Web site loads every morning


Manually go into task schedular, search for task “MicrosoftEdgeUpdateTaskMachineUА”
You may think you find two
As Garlin mentioned, there is a legit one and a spoofed one.
Open the tasks to make sure you find a reference to the .ru site and delete that task.

I don’t know why that script didn’t find it. The other script did.

I am certain I am about to be told.

In Task Scheduler there is only one MicrosoftEdgeUpdateTaskMachineUА set to go off at 5AM daily I deleted it.
I will see how it goes tomorrow.

However and having said that; I still have concerns as to what update.app may have done, what could be laying dormant. The possibilities as far as I am concerned are endless if it was successful.

Last word: For Gods sake man, think about clean reinstalling Windows

I rarely use Edge, but I just updated it with no issues.

If I was going to do a Clean Install of Windows, I would have done that instead of doing all this troubleshooting.
