Solved Boot to desktop no password

I want to set up a new laptop as I had the old one to boot straight to the desktop not password or anything. I didn't seem to be able to set it up at all without at least a PIN so I did this then removbed the pin. When I booted next it asked my for my password - I hadn't set one up. So to get in I had to set a password.

How do I get i8t to boot straight to the desktop? I only use this for Astrophotography.

The simplest way is to create a local account that has no password and use that to sign in. In Sign-in options - Additional settings set '...when should Windows require you to sign in again?' to 'Never' (you may need to temporarily set a password to see this option, if so remove it when done). From then on the PC should boot to this local account's desktop when you next start it up.

Also, is your account Microsoft account?

In the tutorial Bree posted above, do the Netplwiz option, but undo it and redo it about 4 or 5 times without closing the Netplwiz window, to flush the system. See if that helps. And make sure you uncheck the windows hello (from my recollection but may be different in 11)
