Booting Macrium Rescue media from flash

Just finding my way around Win 11 on a new notebook and not sure how to boot the rescue media from flash as it is being ignored at boot when I go through Shift+Restart and choose it. Do I just create new rescue media or what? My existing rescue media was created in version 7 on Win 10 but I'm now using v8 on Win 11.

Yes, create new Rescue Media.
Then when at the boot menu, choose the UEFI USB stick and hit ENTER

We have a solution for that also.
Just go in the other room and wrinkle some cellophane. :D

For really stubborn cats, you may have to bring out the one thing no cat can ignore... the can opener. :D

Sod's Law is working overtime today. When I tried to create new media the mousepad stopped working. Only had this Lafite14 a few days but looks like it's going back to PCSpecialist. Frustrating as it's a snazzy machine. Anyway the cat has found a nice spot under a rad so he's OKI. :cool:

The other option when the rescue disk is created and plugged in is to restart and go to the one time boot menu

When you power up, the BIOS usually shows a little menu at the lower right of the screen. My mobo says hit F11 for the boot device menu. You should then see the USB flash device.

If you have difficulty getting your Macrium media to boot, but other thumb drives will boot (for example, Windows installation media) do this:

Open an elevated command prompt and then run "diskpart". Once diskpart is started run the following commands:

Code: 
list disk

This first command (list disk) is used only to identify the flash drive you will use. Note the disk number. In this example I use disk 2. Be sure to use the right disk number!

Code: 
select disk 2
clean
convert mbr
create partition primary
format fs=fat32 quick
assign
exit
exit

Now, create the recovery disk via Macrium once again. It should work fine this time.

Note: The above steps assume that your flash drive is 32GB or smaller. If it is larger than 32GB, then replace the line

create partition primary
with this line:
create partition primary size=32000

Creating new rescue media and changing boot order to boot to it first, and Win 11 second has resolved all boot issues. If the rescue media is inserted then it boots to it, otherwise it boots to Windows. That's perfect, but it seems the touch pad is out of touch and the machine will have to be returned. Sad. But great help, thanks!
