I have recently taken up with the Brave browser and I am finding it to be so much better than Edge or Chrome in that it appears to have more features and takes up less resources by a fair bit.
However I do notice that it uses a dedicated VPN and I am not sure of what this means or how it works and if it is free as they say?? Would appreciate anyone who uses Brave and is au fair with its operation etc.

Wow! that is quite expensive compared to other VPN's I have seen advertised. Anyway I am not sure if I need one unless someone can advise me on getting one.

I've never used a VPN, but I don't think I'd care to spend $10 a month for it unless I had a very specific reason for it.
