Hi,

For last few months we have been having issues with the mouse accessing items on the taskbar selecting icons and controlling the taskbar. Tried resetting the PC to fresh install and after installing our work software which included dental application, adobe pdf viewer, and MS Office this problem showed its face again. Event viewer also displayed errors with Textinputhost.exe which is one of the promised fixes in KB5027292 that was released the other day. However KB5027292 is for 21H2 and we have 22H2 of Windows 11 and when I tried to manually install KB5027292 I got an unsupported system type error message. So wondering what can I do short of installing Windows 10. This is getting ridiculous.

Thank you

Sounds like one of those applications is conflicting with Windows. You can prove it by performing a clean boot. If it doesn't happen in a clean boot, you have some software conflicting with Windows. Brink's procedure will help you weed out which one. Perform a Clean Boot in Windows 11 to Troubleshoot Software Conflicts Tutorial

I did something like that. Went into MSconfig and deactivated almost every non Microsoft startup app. Kind of worked for a couple days and then it came right back. Think I'll just go Windows 10.

I do not think it will be Adobe or Office. You might try running your dental program in compatibility mode to see if it makes a difference.. Right click on it's exe-properties-compatibility tab. It would be worth a shot.

After three hours of messing with it I gave up and reinstalled Windows using the 'Reset my PC' option. Problem solved for now.

I had to do same with my X570 HERO. Even though Windows kept nagging me that it was Win 11 ready. It made a total mess of my PC and I had to reinstall. 'Reset my PC' wasn't even an option. It was a complete and utter disaster. It was the last time I ever phoned Microsoft and it will remain so. When it comes to tech support these people are about as useful as teats on a bull.
