Windows 11 24H2
Hello !
Since updating Windows 11 23h2 to version 24h2, I have had a game crash with a window that displays Directx Error.
Code erreur: 0x887A0005 (0x887A0007) (6070) D
Signature: CBD0D79D-6AA48824-29136E1F-474CAFE2
Emplacement: 0x00007FFC353083EA (19750334)
Exécutable: game_ship.exe

I have an MSI nvidia geforce 1070 card.
All other games work.
MW3 crashes both through battle.net and through steam.
The game has been verified several times.
Same thing by reinstalling Windows 11 24h2 via ISO.
On the other hand, the game works perfectly again when switching back to Windows 11 23h2.

Thank you for your quick response.
For cod, it's ricochet and not Easy Anti-Cheat.
Even campaign mode doesn't work.
Even installing old nvidia drivers, same problems.

I don't know what to do anymore.

I know the performance might suffer, but you can try installing the more stable Studio drivers, not the gaming drivers.

I'm not trying to be facetious. Just stating a fact. Your situation is cut and dried. You upgraded to 24h2. It broke your gaming. You roll back to 23h2 and your gaming works. There are known issues with 24h2 surrounding your very issue. (At this point, not everyone is affected by the issue so we do not know if using incompatible hardware comes into play or not) Yet you still want us to help make 24h2 work. You ask the impossible.

Users affected by this update are at the mercy of MS. There's nothing a forum can say that's going to fix an issue that , thus far, MS hasn't. MS will eventually issue a fix. You have to wait until they do and hope that when it comes it's for all machines, not just the compatible ones.

It's been around 6 years since (Windows 10) - since a feature pack update was such a big mess. Highly unprofessional - and same goes for anyone who would recommend an upgrade right now. Fortunately, i know have very few people in my line of contacts - who use Windows 11 (whom bought new systems recently - most are still on Win 10 :) - and recommended all those people against it for now (or they can do as they please - but i won't offer any support in regards to any of the dozens of issues - many people are having it with it).

I'm sure there's all kinds of ways to make things work - but some issues can take hours (if not days). There's still time:

This is not a Microsoft official forum. Then again, even on the official forum: Redirecting - you won't get any official answers - nor will some official take your issue into account. You could try here: MSRC Researcher Portal or by using the Feedback HUB. But slow chances due to high amount of reports (maybe A.I. will register it). Nvidia and Activision - have their own official page for reporting bugs.

Don't worry, just report the bug in Activision game forum. Game Developers take reports seriously and issue patches in such cases You will download and install the patch and you should be OK. In fact there may be a patch already check their forum.

I been having this exact same issue since I updated to 24H2. Game freezes then CTD with DirectX error code 6070 D.

Don’t know if this needs to be fixed by Nvidia, Activision, or MS. Hopefully there is a fix soon

Let me watch out how this issue going on. same game.

another issue is still un-solved. audio issue when HDMI connection under 24H2. was fine under 23H2.

on the Official release 24H2, my PC (Asus Zenbook) run into below problem again.

HDMI connected to TV while no audio on TV.
the audio is on Asus.

I had the same problem. Rollback to 23H2 worked for me as well. The issue seems to be related to those woh have AutoHDR enabled.
Microsoft has therefore from today "applied a compatibility hold on devices that have enabled Auto HDR. These devices will not be offered to install Windows 11, version 24H2 via the Windows Update release channel."
So, the workaround is to either not install 24H2 update, or disable AutoHDR.

There is a thread over at Steam about this same issue with this game. There are multiple users reporting they have the same issue the OP reports with 23H2, so this isn't just an issue caused by 24H2.

Just disable AutoHDR, problem solved. Wait for new drivers that fix that.

Quick question for those having similar issues with COD. Are you running BitDfender? There are solutions on their forum as it is hogging a tonne of memory causing COD to crash.

I am running COD on a desktop and Laptop both with more than enough umph to run COD, both were having issues with COD. Removed BitDefender Anti-Virus and problem is resolved. There are ways of disabling some components of BitDefender but that is not a solution for me, it's a band aid. It's been an ongoing issue wince 2023. Since removing BitDefender I haven't had a problem with any of the COD games.

Yesterday, I received an update in the insider channel, and since then I have launched the game through Battle.net, the game starts with the 1st poster of the Warzone season 2, stops loading after a few seconds, and closes without any errors with dedicated ID.
I uninstalled/reinstalled the game, scanned and repaired, and repaired Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022, but nothing worked. I feel like this problem is completely linked to MS and the update.
