can i pause search indexing then turn off computer

hello i have a question that I am confused with i ran indexing options for searches and it's taking ages to do can i pause search indexing then turn off computer and then turn it back on tomorrow and let it continue indexing or will it start all over again will i get indexing loss

it's just that I need to know and not turn on my computer again tomorrow and have to go rebuild the indexing again

Why not leave your computer on in sleep mode overnight until it finishes?

The speed of indexing depends on a number of factors.
1. How busy your PC is (indexing 'backs off' (pauses) on the slightest activity
2. Your hardware- data transfer rates
3. How much - what- you've chosen to index in Settings and Indexing Options
4. Whether you've enabled content indexing or not

Start by watching the number of items indexed occasionally and see how that progresses. Look at your task manager- resource usage.
