They have probably 100, 000 insiders, and the telemetry could be a downloadable app.

I think that with MS and Windows, the operative phrase is to ‘stay flexible.’ They make many subtle changes which require us to unlearn behavior patterns that have been established in our minds over many years and have become almost like automatic for us. Do we see benefits in the changes that come down the line after years of conditioning? That’s something we each have to face as we go forward in whatever direction MS is heading. Unlearning set ways is never easy and that’s why there will always be a third party app out there to steer you back to the ‘more familiar way of doing things.’

The setting has been there for a long time if anyone wanted it they would already be using it like that but ms is weird thinking people are to stupid to find options :lmao:

Frankly when I use print screen key it does exactly what I want it to do full screen shot for paint/ gimp/... to paste to or quick share desktop one can always choose thumbnail in the editor :p

I have snipping tool pinned to taskbar and use it like i want to.

You can also use PS key for menus that close if snipping tool is selected without recording.

I agree ms killed paint long ago I use win-7's along with snipping tool plus notepad.

I use Paint and Prt Sc quite a lot. Paint for quickly resizing photos for uploading. Print screen for screenshotting things I want to resize in paint to upload on sites. Or just to save them when you can't copy and paste.

What exactly does snipping tool do? Never bothered to try it!

lol, I use PrtScr key and it's variations all the time and don't want it to ever change to some garbage app shortcut. If I want to copy a specific area I use WIN + Shift + S and select what to copy to clipboard.

What I do with that data after this is up to each scenario...sometimes I paste it to Paint and add some annotations and sometimes I just paste it to an ongoing conversation.

Having some app with extra steps in between will just slow me down. If I really need the snipping tool as a full app for something, I fire it up manually, which is like 1 in a million screen captures.

I've got to be honest, I had changed the print screen button to use the snipping tool years ago. it's just a much more useful and powerful tool.
