Just installed Irfanview on this laptop for the first time, and still cannot drag images from Web pages on 22H2.

I will mention at this point that the only modification I've made to Win11 is installing Explorer Patcher, which I've been using for almost a year with no problems until the 22H2 upgrade.

Might as well keep Irfanview anyway. Haven't used it since XP... not sure why.

EDIT: In fact, just discovered that I cannot drag images into Irfanview from any Explorer window, either. The cursor changes to the little icon that indicated I can do it, but when I release the mouse button the image doesn't appear. This is more annoying/frustrating than it should be....

I guess I can't be of any help as I don't use Explorer Patcher, but I can drag&drop from anywhere.

However, I'd like to thank you for this thread, as I never knew about dragging straight off of web pages. Makes it super easy to download and save images.

Was a solution for this discovered for MS Paint? I went through the pages but it seemed to be more about Affinity. I noticed dragging photos to my Paint icon, does not open paint. Normally I drag a photo to say, the Chrome Shortcut icon, it would open in chrome. OR Photoshop icon, it opens the photo in photoshop.

ANyways to do this with the pain icon?

There was also mention of this tutorial, but i'm not sire Copy to folder is relevant for this?

Previous to your upgrade to 22H2 you were using 21H2 which has an Explorer that is pretty much the same as Windows 10. Edwin is also using the old Explorer (via StartAllBack). It sounds to me like the new Explorer may be the source of the problem (as it is for the majority of lost functionality in Windows 11). Try switching to the old Explorer and see if drag and drop works as it did before.
