Can’t enable LSA

My Laptop is completely up to date but LSA is showing as off. I have tried to put it on in the system when I clicked on the settings but there is no toggle button for it.

I read through some posts and tried to do it that way through the run and what not but can’t because it is in Windows S Mode and won’t allow me unless I turn it off.

Ideally I don’t want to as it’s for security and says I can’t turn it back on if i do?

I read this was a bug and it is on but because it’s showing as an alert I’m worried my device is at risk.

I have Norton security as an added protection so would this help regardless?

I don’t know what to do and don’t really understand a lot of it.

Please help in simple terms if possible!!

I can't even see LSA on my Win 11 Pro 22H2 Build 22621.1992 machine. See photo.

There are no warnings about LSA not being turned on so do I need to be concerned about not seeing LSA?

@fizzel08 - I think it is a bug in Windows 11 because I can see "LSASS.exe was started as a protected process with level: 4" in the Event Viewer. Phew!
To put your mind at rest you can check your 'Event Viewer' and search for "LSASS.exe". If it shows as 'Started' then you are okay. See photo: -

I have the same problem. In event viewer it says LSA is not properly signed and will not be started.

I googled this error and found that MS turned off LSA until they can find a fix for the bug:

Hi MSteele101,

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Last month Microsoft released an Update that caused an LSA error to appear in Windows Security, then they released an update to patch that LSA bug and that has introduced a new bug, that you are now seeing in a recent update, those Registry Edits just hide the bug, Microsoft actually removed LSA from Windows Security until they have provided a fix for this bug, so we still need to wait for them to release a working patch.
