Can't get cortana popups to stop

I've disabled cortana and uninstalled it. Its not in the task list. But when I take a link, I still get the popup. Can anyone tell me how to stop all cortana popups on my Windows 11 laptop?

That means you have not uninstalled Cortana use the attached batch script to uninstall Cortana.

I'm sorry, but that's the second program I've downloaded from you that Windows security flags as BAD.
What's up with that?
I finally got past all the Microsoft Barbed Wire and got to look at the file, and found it way more complicated than required to just disable Cortana.

These simple lines are the crux of the batch file I use to kill Cortana. (or just do it manually. Takes only a few seconds)

CD "C:\Windows\SystemApps\Microsoft.Windows.Cortana_CW5n1h2txyewy\"

takeown /f Cortana.Core.dll
icacls Cortana.Core.dll /grant administrators:F
::
RENAME Cortana.Core.dll Cortana.Core.ddd
@ECHO Cortana is now dead.

It is false-positive all my scripts are safe not much i can do if Windows Defender don't like it.

I know..... I don't really trust MS to tell me what day it is. And we're supposed to take everything they say as if it was from God himself.
But let me clarify my post a little further. No matter what I'm doing on a PC, or in Windows, I always try to take the most direct and fastest route to get to my objective.

After doing much reading, and rejecting complicated methods, I finally determined that just renaming that CortanaCore.dll file to CortanaCore.ddd would totally disable it. Because that .dll file is the thing that makes it work. Cortana could be re-enabled later, by just renaming it back to the original .dll.
I was doing that manually, on every Windows install till I fingered out how to put the steps into a simple batch file. Now I run that batch file as a part of my Windows Install with every Install.
I know it's Old Hat, but I at least attempt to do everything via the K.I.S.S. method.

I, too, am old school but I have found Windows 11 to be a whole new beast. It's core is entirely different than the days of XP and 7 and it squawks a lot if I don't remove or disable the way it wants me too. Cortana is tied to windows search. Luckily we have Brink and his tutorials. It's real easy to search for the one you want.

Uninstall using RevoUninstaller (freeware)

download and install Revo
run Revo and change settings - Options tab > Uninstaller (LH column) > untick Make system restore point (waste of time) > tick box Checkmark all leftovers by default

For Cortana (and other useless Windows bloatware apps)

Windows Apps tab > double click Cortana
after uninstall, follow the prompts to remove all leftovers

Not necessarily required, but I always re-boot

I use Geek uninstaller, does the same job as Revo, and use it to remove OneDrive after a new install. Not a peep from either afterwards.

Especially if I'm setting up a (new) computer for a new user, I use RevoUninstaller to remove the crapware, then use Geek Uninstaller to remove Revo so there's no trace of a program that might be dangerous in unfamiliar hands
