Using the Alt key does toggle the menu bar on or off for me and I am running the default RTM installs of Win11 Pro 22H2 on a Desktop and Notebook and Home on a second Desktop without much customization due to having to see what clients see.

Press Alt
pressing alt does nothing i have an almost identical machine with the same stuff installed and that one is fine pressing alt brings up the menu releasing it hides it

i give up my ocd cant handle having it there each time i open control panel
ill just do a fresh install again and check it after i install each UI Mod and see if anything causes it

only downside to a fresh install is i need to download 400gb of xbox/ms store games again

... each UI Mod...
How many? What are they?

I've heard of shell mods working against each other, even installed in the wrong order!

For instance:
I have QTTabBar installed..., this setting locks the shell hook, no other mod or function will deter it...

the only thing i installed that might interfer is Open Shell start menu replacement and StarAllisBack Taskbar replacement

i did uninstall both and tried to clear any settings but its still there maybe they left some reminance that i missed

either way fun reformat and reinstall awaits :-)

Noticed earlier that if the menu bar is turned on by the Alt key it can also be turned off with a simple mouse click anywhere in the Control Panel window. Works on both Win10 and Win11.
