Anybody know what this thing is that's being pushed in CCleaner if you click on the faceless avatar in the upper right corner?

Recently, we saw Acronis True Image try to turn into an anti-malware program; now CCleaner seems to want to be an Edge. I say forget it, mac!

Well, sir, I like it for various functions: it efficiently checks my Sys Restore files, and lets me keep them under control (yes, I know, my images and other backups are more reliable, but I like and use Sys Restore and it almost always works for me when that's the thing I need), it does registry scans that tell me how much garbage has been left behind by things I no longer need or even have, and it's a one-click nightly wiper of unwanted cookies, browser cache files, and old temps. What's not to like?

It just ain't a browser company, any more than Acronis is a Malwarebytes competitor.

it's a one-click nightly wiper of unwanted cookies, browser cache files....

That, and it's ability to whitelist the cookies you need to keep (like Ten Forums and Eleven Forum login cookies) is the one thing that justifies my continuing to use it.

I used to be an anti-cleaner :D

I've have used it as an assist to do targeted registry cleanup for poorly written software uninstall, though I think revo uninstaller is better for that sort of thing.. Do not need any of it's features in normal circumstances. Doesn't take up too much space in reality.

One browser at a time. You'd need to install this plugin individually in every one of your browsers and separately manage each browser's whitelist of cookies to keep. If you use multiple browsers and are prepared to do that work, then this plugin is also available for Firefox, your link was for a chromium browser.

The advantage of using CCleaner is that it cleans all your browsers at once and only has the one whitelist to maintain. It also cleans all the temporary internet files across all your browsers in one go, and those can add up to several GB if not controlled. Thanks, but I'll stick with CCleaner.

Not true if you sync with Google. Plugin will be installed automatically after sync.
