Clean Install. Driver file for Intel 11th Gen. Which do I select?

In a nutshell...

Tried to clean install using Media Creation Tool and bootable USB. Reports as 'No Drives Found'. Seems new laptop has Intel 11th Gen processor and so no driver support with the install media. It needs Intel IRST driver adding to the bootable drive.

Dell have this generic article:

I've extracted the driver to the USB drive but the file for my laptop look slightly different when viewed in file explorer (before I try it for real as an install).

I have got as far as step 6 in the Dell article. When I open the folders I see different things. Not sure which to use out of all these.

to my understanding, you want to update Intel RST drivers, and your Windows 11 are using generic drivers? if you want to update it, I'd recommend to use device manager.

device manager > IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers > select your device > driver tab > update driver > browse my computer for drivers > browse and select the folder, tick include subfolder > and then next. don't forget to restart after updating.

I'm after creating USB installation media (which I've done many times before) and the Intel 11th Gen CPU's apparently need the correct files adding to the USB drive created by the Media Creation Tool.

I did wonder if they would look different viewed from the actual install scenario rather than looking at them in file explorer on a working system.

Thanks, that's great. Installing on a UEFI system is all new to me and the missing drivers for the Intel set up really threw me.

It turns out everything I did was correct and if I had just 'gone for it' and installed it would have worked as per the Dell article. Looking first in File Explorer doesn't work and gives an incorrect view or presentation. I just wanted to be sure what to click first before doing it for real.

I've tried again and I see the correct driver files now on the USB stick when doing the install for real. In fact its just part way through updating now.

Injecting the IRST drivers into boot.wim and install.wim on usb installation drive using dism usually sorts your issue.

I made it simple and put my f6 drivers on a separate usb drive. I do not have raid or optane. Per Dell article I insert the following :

What I was seeing when I just looked at the installation drive and after inserting the drivers was as you see in the 5th image in post #1

When booting from the USB stick and loading the driver you see something totally different like in this image. This was what I thought I might have seen just browsing the file in File Explorer. It was my error, I was looking to hard at the problem.

Anyhow all installed, something like 49 drivers installed (eek) but all seems as though it should be OK. One to set up at leisure now.
