Solved Compiling a truck load of registry tweaks

Halo

I can pretty much bend Windows exactly the way I wan’t it using a lot of registry changes found here and a couple elsewhere.
Edwin introduced me to an option in Winaero Tweaker a while back (thanks my man) that allowes you to compile multiple registry tweaks into one file.

My concern is; I probably have over 40 registry tweaks. Does anyone see a problem with performing that many tweaks in one nuclear swoop? I don’t believe there are any conflicts between the tweaks, they are carefully selected and categorised in my PC.

Individually I have no problem with them at all, in one batch, I am wondering…

Should not cause no problems but making sure to restart Windows 11 is a good way to make sure all applied.

You could group/organize them by category (ie - explorer, taskbar, etc) and write a script that runs x number of reg keys based on one category, and reboots pc, then continues to next group, reboot, next and so on.

Good idea, if I face issues next install I may do just that. If they all run and I can’t see a problem, all good. If I can identify that some didn’t take, it’s a good option. Thanks

I know that I underestimated. I thought that if I was honest and said 60, people might laugh.

every tweak i make i annotate on a word doc bullet list. its 4+ pages. always need to know in case of emergency reimage...

Hell yeah. I am quite anal with my tweaks. But I got to the point that they all work perfectly. So I figured just run with it.
Individually would take me a good part of half a day if not longer, annotating one by one.

I do however have a step by step install sheet that I change as I have to. From install to software order.

And for every tweak Brink has supplied, there is a reversal tweak

Fresh install —> update —> system image —> tweak —> system image —> MS Office —> system image —> Adobe… —> Final system image.
The rest is negligible, but time consuming.

Yeah, I went a bit overboard

You could always do Select All/Merge...

but then, you'd have to press Enter/OK about 157 times!!! :zany:

I think I like your Winaero option better.

Gone are the days where you have to click the X 50 times to remove a popup xxxx malware before your coworker sees your computer screen

I didn't use Winaero. I did a little sorting and just copied and pasted Brink's stuff into one reg file. It changes regularly. I wouldn't know how to write a reg file myself without being told; a bat file either. Heck, I never even mastered HTML. I'm green as a gourd in those areas.

I know @Brink realizes how much he helps all the newbies that come here, but some of us old 'ens heavily depend on him, too. Have y'all stopped to think what this forum would be like without his stuff as guidance? A big ol' mess, that's what.
