There are more metric numbers being used but we still have a long way to go. For an example more and more products are now measured in liters (litres) instead of ounces, pounds, pints, quarts and gallons and so on. My opinion on this is it's so they can sell us smaller quantities for a higher price without us suspected that they actually raised the price.

Most the rest of the world is using the Metric system accept for the US and a handful of other countries. Which is the most logical mode of measuring in measures based on 10, instead of how long a king's arm and foot are.
In the US, We buy soft drinks in 2 liter bottles but we buy milk in quarts and gallons?
Just look to the UK who is trying to covert but it is stalled and now more confusing than ever.

I don't believe that "shrinkflation" requires any funny business with units. Items that are still sold in traditional quantities (gallons of milk, gallons of gasoline) seem to be the exception.

Interstate 19, which runs from Tucson to the southern Arizona border, is signed in metric. When I lived there in the late 90s, that bugged some people. Especially the ones who regarded the existence of Mexico as very unfortunate.
