Solved CTL ALT DELETE

When running Task Manager I see windows WIDGETS OPEN what are they used for?

Hi Timmy,

Just news and weather. You should see an icon in your taskbar and when you hover your mouse over it, it will pop-up with weather and such.

When I reboot, I see Widgets open in my task manager. Once booted, the first thing I do is end the Widget task(s). Sometimes Widgets start up again in the task manager, but not often. I don't use, or want, Widgets and have disabled them as best possible. But they try to start up anyway. Anyone have a suggestion on how to get rid of them completely on Windows 11 and Windows 10.

I believe the lock screen cards are also part of the widgets program.

OK. However, I never lock my screen. I live alone. When I am done working, I just leave everything running. After a while, the screen will blank, but not lock. I just hit the "esc" key or move the mouse and I'm back in business. If I am going to be away for a long period of time, I just close the lid and the system goes into hibernation. When I open the lid again, and press the power button, everything comes back the way I left it. The only time I reboot is when I get an update. And when my system reboots, I do not see any Widgets on the screen. It only shows up in the task manager. I looked through all of the installed apps and don't see anything to do with Widgets.

Have you disabled Widgets in Window settings?

Yes. I disabled Widgets a long time ago. But they still show up in the Task Manager after a reboot and sometimes while I am operating.
