Tried the both ways. It says "installation is complete but reboot is needed". Then reboots, says "installing updates", reaches about 30%, reboots again, reaches 97%, says there was an error, but do not worry, we roll all back.

So, I rolled back by 2 days and the update installed. I still do not know the reason for the failure. Possibly it was a conflict with the Intel driver updates that I did from the Windows Update before the cumulative update.
