I just opened Everything and it finds several instances of iexplore.exe, current default install of Win11 24H2.

its definitely there. possibly a tweak/mod you made at some point that removed it?

my point was in concurrence with @Berton that everyone should have it unless removed by way of the end user. it is still a component of windows os. im not sparking an argument, nor am i debating. it is merely a fact.

The way I see it is..., each individual needs to weigh the importance of maintaining a properly and legally functioning machine according to his or her needs.
Some users like to tweak the hell out of their machines, others use it straight out of the box!

Me, I've been doing stupid things to my PC's since the dawn of time, but then..., my PC isn't the Holy Grail of appliances in my house..., my coffee maker is!!! :cool:

When I removed Edge, when I rebooted, I was running Dos 1.0, good thing I had a backup. :LOL:

Though I'm still on 23H2, this worked well for me. The only oddity that has popped up is one of my games threw up a couple of .dll errors upon launch and I suspect they are related to Edge, but it could simply be coincidence.

Thanks. I just tried this. Sure hope it keeps working for me.

I almost never use edge. Still, I don't really care if edge is on my computer or not. But since enabling 25H2, some process which updates edge fails over and over (it shows up in reliability monitor). This doesn't crash the machine or keep it from booting, but it makes me nervous when I know something isn't right :).
