deleting thumbnails

Hi all,
when I start the "disc cleanup" utility, it never cleans the thumbnails. It pauses itself for some minutes before closing and nothing happens. Other lines are cleaned up OK.

Didn't work for me. Got the screen to say it did but still got 20mb showing in disc cleanup

Does it say anything in Event Viewer? Application and Services Logs > Microsoft > Windows > Disk Cleanup

Maybe the Thumbnail cache is actively in use or locked by some type of Explorer process
