Dell XPS 15 9520 Battery Test?

Dell XPS 15 9520. Okay so I did this battery test when my laptop battery was around 21%. Then I plugged in my xps charger into it and started charging my laptop. Normally my laptop is always plugged in.

Design Capacity 84,292 mWh

Full Charger Capacity 73,676 mWh



Cycle Count -



I had this laptop for about a year or so. Is this normal? Should I do the test again when my laptop is fully charged at 100%? Why does it show nothing for cycle count?


Normally my laptop is plugged in 100%. However the last week or two, I have been using it unplugged till about 50% or 20% and 10% and once it shut off because the battery ran out. I rarely ever do this but wanted to look at how long my laptop battery last when unplugged since my laptop is plugged when using it almost 100% of the time.


Thoughts on this? I assume you replace a laptop battery every 1.5 or 2 years right? For me, I'm a heavy user. Laptop is turned on at least 12 hours a day at the absolute minimum. You have to look at the battery capacity history right? It seems to be 84,292 mWh full charge capacity over a year ago. Then it took 6 months or so for it to drop to 84,000 mWh or so and then another week before it went to 80000 mWh or so. Now it's about 73,767 mWh.

He can't seem to help himself or understand that he is becoming a pestilential nuisance here and elsewhere with his never-ending topics and his refusal to take the expert advice offered to him in the many Forums that he visits. He just goes on, and on, and on, . . . , the Eveready Energizer bunny!

He has done nothing to deserve banning, so I think the best thing we can do is just to ignore him. It seems to be working over at Bleeping Computer. I suspect he craves attention. When he gets none, he moves on and creates a new topic, usually on multiple Forums, to gain more attention. He probably feels important here since he is a VIP, which I did not know stood for "Very Irritating Person." I am one myself!

You will note that here and at BC, he has never addressed comments such as these, so we have no real concrete idea of his motivation. I will be interested to see if he responds to this post. Don't hold your breath, @Berton !

And, Bleeping computers can be a hard room! Don't go there and post a personal preference if it does not coincide with the approved narrative. I did, and was seriously ostracized for it. And, I've been a member there for years.
But that's OK, because that forum is nothing but a bunch of MS Fanboys.

As for the Laptop battery thing.....it's been cussed and discussed hundreds of times over the years, both here and elsewhere.
I won't even go there, since my own thoughts will just be ignored anyway.
But, it's a freakin' Battery, not Rocket Science.

Many BC members, myself included, are not "MS Fanboys."

I would be very happy to discuss, via PM, any concerns you may have about a perceived "approved narrative" at BC. The "Speak Easy" Forum can get heated, but I am not aware of any approved orthodoxy at BC. I have been a member there since 2014-12-31.

I am not comfortable with hijacking this topic to discuss your past experience with BC.
