Desktop Background Reverting to Picture Mode with Virtual Desktops

Whenever I open a new virtual desktop and switch back and forth from it (especifically whenever I switch virtual desktops, regardless of when they were created) my desktop backgrond automatically reverts to picture mode. I've seen very few posts on reddit and other microsoft support forums regarding this, and neither offer a clear solution (the reddit one in particular says to delete all instances where my default desktop file appears in my registry, which seems a bit overkill). Does anyone have any intuition of what's happening here? Any guides or previous posts that have a solution?

I must confess that I had run ooShutup on this computer, and it's likely that it has messed around with some of the registry regarding windows spotlight, it is possible to have also altered the desktop background registry. Either way, it is a possibility, but not likely the root cause given that other -albeit few- users have also experienced this issue. Probably becuase no one uses virtual desktops.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks :)

Hello, deleting the stuck image from folder selected for slideshow and restarting the Windows helped me.
