Devon loves to pull in and he also loves the strap. Note in the video he purposely let go to get the strap invoked. Once he dose! Note his foot in the corner of the table and then press. His opponent is finished.

Honestly, when I saw his hand closer to his shoulder... I pretty much knew he was gonna win.
The Italian had his arm too extended. No power that way.

There was an old test for that. Get a friend standing in front of you with both his hands together at stomach level.
And you... extend your arm out... and try to push his hands down. Can't do it.
Pull your hand in by your shoulder, and it's no contest.

You don't even need a friend. Just tense your arm like you're arm wrestling.
With your hand by your shoulder and with your hand further away from your shoulder. You can feel the difference.

Push ups... push from your shoulder.
Bench press... same.
Even swimming (racing)... hand closer to chest (shoulder)... more power.
Shot put... throw from your shoulder.
Javelin, football... throw from your shoulder.

It all depends on your hand position. Palms up or to the side "known as the hammer" Or palms down. "reverse bicep" Different muscle groups. You see were I'm going with?

There used to be an old cartoon on the wall, outside the physics lab.
It had two cutaway views of a brain. One was... brain before physics, and the other was brain after physics.

It looked sort of like the cartoon about the Grinch. The before and after shots of the Grinch's heart. :-)

Yes. But then there the endurance factor. If you have that and Devon most definitely has you can just hold till your opponent gives out.

No... it was just a picture similar to the one outside the physics lab.
I can't find a copy of the physics one. But the Grinch's heart pics... were... similar. :-)



I still miss the arm wrestling in Petaluma, CA. They started in 1956 at this bar.
After a few years... there were like 400 people coming every year to compete.
There were broken wrists, arms, torn biceps, etc.

I'd imagine there are still the same injuries... but it was kind of weird seeing it happen, live on TV.
