Whether you’re driving, walking, or taking the bus, Maps for Windows 11 gets you there. Get directions and choose from alternate routes, or plan a longer trip with multiple stops.
You can download maps, and use the Maps app to search for and get directions, even when you are offline.
By default, Windows will automatically update maps when plugged in and not on a metered connection.
This tutorial will show you how to download offline maps in Windows 11.
Here's How:
1 Open Settings (Win+I).
2 Click/tap on Apps on the left side, and click/tap on Offline maps on the right side. (see screenshot below)
3 Click/tap on the Download maps button. (see screenshot below)
4 Click/tap on the continent (ex: "North and Central America") the offline map is for. (see screenshot below)
5 Perform one of the available actions: (see screenshots below)
- Click/tap on the Download button for the country the offline map is for.
- Click/tap on the Choose region button for the country (ex: "USA") the offline map is for, click/tap on the download button (down arrow) for the State/Region (ex: "Oklahoma") the offline map is for, and click/tap on Close.
6 The selected offline map will now start downloading. (see screenshot below)
7 You can now close Settings if you like.
That's it,
Shawn Brink
