Downloads folder has changed

Ok so the last couple of days I've downloaded the odd thing and then couldn't find it in my downloads folder, which was odd. Today I noticed it's upside down. Ie instead of newly downloaded being at the top and older stuff further down, it's older stuff at the top and I eventually found my downloads right at the bottom. So have a clicked on something to reverse that somehow? Or is Windows playing up?

You probably clicked on one of the column headings, which re-sorts the list depending on which column heading you clicked on.

Yep, what Ghot said. Or if you're not in Details view for some reason, right click an empty space in a window and sort. Classic context menu shown; Win11 context menu has the same thing.

That's it thanks - sort - descending. But I am sure I didn't click to change it to ascending. Seems to have just gone like that. Anyway back to normal now - thank you.
