Hi MoKiChU, I'm really new here (just created an account) but I've been reading for a few hours trying to find out the newest Realtek audio driver for my laptop but I really don't know which one to install.
All I know is that my laptop is kind of old (Asus UX360UAK) intel core i5 7th gen processor and on the asus support site the latest driver update is this version: (this is the link to it: ASUS Zenbook Flip UX360UAK - Support)
Realtek Audio Driver
Version V6.0.1.7940
233.09 MB
2016/11/10

I think there is a new one but I don't want to mess up my laptop installing something I don't know.

Hope you can help me find the correct and newest driver for my pc.

Thanks a lot in advance!!

Hi,

I don't offer audio drivers packages for notebooks/laptops in order to focus on my field : DIY PC/Motherboards (hence the fact that my threads are in DIY Builds and Motherboards category).

However, you can use Realtek High Definition Audio Drivers (HDA - ASUS ROG/TUF/PRIME DTS&RTK) from the first post of this thread (it is compatible with your notebook).

Once done, install/reinstall your last ICEsound app from your notebook support page : https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/Apps_for_Win10/ICEsound/ICEsound_Win10_64_VER10411.zip

Hi again MoKiChU and sorry bother you, but I have one last question please about how to install this update.

Should I follow all these steps in order to install it mentioned on the first post?

Install/Update Process :

CLEANUP

/!\ If you already had Realtek (HD) Audio Driver installed /!\
Uninstall it (Start > Settings > Apps) then restart your PC
- Launch Driver Store Explorer > Check the boxes of all versions of drivers which .inf starts with (if you find them) :
a-volute | avolute | dts | hdx | realtek
- Check the box "Force Deletion" then click on the "Delete Driver(s)" button then restart your PC

Or can I just update using this method?

UPDATE

- Launch "Setup.exe" > "Next" > The installer will ask you to uninstall your current drivers > "Next"
- Then it will ask you to restart your PC > "Finish"
- Then at startup it will automatically launch the installation of new drivers > "Next"
- Then it will ask you to restart your PC > "Finish"

Also (and lastly), the ICEsound app (which I already have installed), do I need to uninstall it before updating the drivers and then reinstall it or can just update the drivers with that app running on my laptop?

Thanks a lot once again for your time and patience!

Hi,

Only the UPDATE process, but it may be different depending on your equipment :

Either (A) :

- Launch "Setup.exe" > "Next" > The installer will ask you to restart your PC > "Finish"

Either (B) :

- Launch "Setup.exe" > "Next" > The installer will ask you to uninstall your current drivers > "Next"
- Then it will ask you to restart your PC > "Finish"
- Then at startup it will automatically launch the installation of new drivers > "Next"

No you don't need to uninstall it, however if you are in B case of UPDATE process, you have to reinstall it if it was uninstalled by the Realtek installer/uninstaller.

Hi everyone,

As reminder, you can determine for yourself which drivers package does your motherboard need thanks to these indications (If you still have any doubts, do not hesitate to ask me by PM or in the appropriate thread) :

First, the hardware requirements, in order to be in the right thread :

[DRIVERS] Realtek USB Audio (AMD 5xx/6xx/8xx & Intel 5xx/6xx/7xx/8xx)
Hardware requirements (AMD) : ASUS ROG motherboards with AMD 5xx/6xx/8xx series chipsets with ALC40xx codec.
Hardware requirements (AMD - sTRX4) : ASUS ROG/PRIME motherboards with AMD TRX40 chipset.
Hardware requirements (Intel) : ASUS ROG motherboards with Intel 5xx/6xx/7xx/8xx series chipsets with ALC40xx codec.

[DRIVERS] Realtek Audio (AMD 3xx/4xx/5xx/6xx/8xx & Intel 2xx/3xx/4xx/5xx/6xx/7xx/8xx)
Hardware requirements (AMD) : ASUS ROG/TUF/PRIME/ProArt motherboards with AMD 3xx/4xx/5xx/6xx/8xx series chipsets (except ROG with ALC40xx).
Hardware requirements (Intel) : ASUS ROG/TUF/PRIME/ProArt motherboards with Intel 2xx/3xx/4xx/5xx/6xx/7xx/8xx series chipsets (except ROG with ALC40xx).

[DRIVERS] Realtek Audio (AMD Legacy 6xx/7xx/8xx/9xx & Intel 6x/7x/8x/9x/1xx)
Hardware requirements (AMD) : ASUS ROG/TUF/PRIME motherboards with AMD Legacy 6xx/7xx/8xx/9xx series chipsets.
Hardware requirements (Intel) : ASUS ROG/TUF/PRIME motherboards with Intel 6x/7x/8x/9x/1xx series chipsets.

Second, the drivers package type :

Note : In order to know which drivers package to use, match the audio specifications of your motherboard with the apps or ask me.

So, if in your motherboards specs you see the words :

- Sonic Studio & DTS Sound Unbound : You have an ASUS ROG SS|DTS Sound Unbound motherboard
- Sonic Studio III & DTS Sound Unbound : You have an ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboard
- Sonic Studio III : You have an ASUS ROG SS3 motherboard
- Sonic Studio II : You have an ASUS ROG SS2 motherboard
- Sonic Studio I : You have an ASUS ROG SS1 motherboard
- Sound Blaster X-Fi MB2 : You have an ASUS ROG Sound Blaster X-Fi MB2 motherboard
- DTS:X Ultra : You have an ASUS TUF/PRIME DTS:X Ultra motherboard
- DTS Audio Processing : You have an ASUS TUF/PRIME DTS Audio Processing motherboard
- DTS Headphone:X v1 : You have an ASUS TUF/PRIME DTS Headphone:X v1 motherboard
- DTS Custom : You have an ASUS TUF/PRIME DTS Custom motherboard
- DTS Studio Sound : You have an ASUS TUF/PRIME DTS Studio Sound motherboard
- None of the previous words : You have an ASUS ROG/TUF/PRIME/ProArt Realtek motherboard
