Edge Dev and Canary?

I have a very minor problem with the Edge Dev and Canary builds. In the upper right hand corner the - sign, the double box and the + sign are not visible. When I hoover my mouse over the area the popup show and works. They just don't show. They are there when I run released version of Edge. I can't test in Windows 10 and I'm wondering if the is a problem with Edge Dev and Edge Canary or Windows 11? Seeing how I'm a insider and running Windows 11 I decided to also test the Edge browser.

I just installed Edge Canary and don't really have an issue seeing them.

But when I took screenshots of them, they are a lot harder to see. I'm viewing the browser window on a 4K display with auto-HDR enabled, but in so the icons show against the background perfectly fine, but the following screenshots seem to make me out to be a liar lol.

Have you tried fiddling with hte color setting in Settings --> Personalization?

I don't see any problem, it's working as normal in all builds, you could try reinstalling the Canary build.

I have checked in dark theme as well.

I on my laptop and I don't have the problem. I wonder if it could be the video card driver causing it? In fact my color theme is also working.

I just checked the Windows Update history on my desktop and see that Windows has installed two NVIDIA driver updates since I upgraded to Windows 11. The last one was today. It's driver 30.0.14.7141. When I get time I'll check the NVIDIA site for their latest driver.

I checked the NVIDIA site and that is the latest driver. It only happens with the DEV and Canary build. Edge works the way it's supposed to.

I have tried all the options in the Edge Customize appearance menu and tried different settings in the Windows Personalization > Color setting. Edge DEV and Edge Canary are the only two programs that do this. Edge works great.

But you would have had to change that setting, because a default install on my end didn't recreate the issue.

But, in thinking it over, it could be some other application or even a Windows' setting that might be interfering.

Wonder if Chrome Canary does it for you also?

But I do like your plan B, as a Fx enthusiast myself.

What ever is causing it is only in the test builds. I installed Canary the other day just to test if I had a bad install of the Dev build. Edge itself works OK. I do prefer Firefox as my browser. I just thought that being a Insider that I should also test the Edge builds.

I got the Edge Canary build working. I uninstalled The Canary and Dev builds of Edge. Then I signed out of my user account and signed back in as a Admin. Then I installed the Canary build and set it up. I closed it and reopened it and it still worked. Then I tried it with the Dev build. It worked until I closed and reopened it. Then I signed out and back in to my user account and did the same setup. The Canary build is working but the Dev stopped showing the icons on the upper right again.

Change colour to 8bit and see if it fixes it.

You may have big missing/blank chunk in the MS store also as well as explorer windows same toolbar (not all the time), it is either down to Win 11 or Nvidia (have not seen any AMD users mention it so far)

I'm on my laptop so I can't try . When I'm back on my desktop I'll try and see what happens. The Dev build was working until I restarted it.
