I've been sitting here pulling my hair out trying to figure out why all the sudden paramount plus stopped playing movies generating error 111 unable to play sponsor content. My ad blocker is disabled in edge for the site and I can play movies through chrome just fine plus they both use identical extensions.
I tried clearing the cache and cookies, uninstalling and reinstalling the app and nothing worked. So while sitting here thinking about what it could be I decided to check the edge extensions page and when it loaded lo and behold somehow everything was doubled showing one active and one disabled. I removed all of the disabled extensions and once I did and after reloading edge it could load paramount plus and play content just fine and so could the associated windows store app.
Hope this helps someone else out of jam. At my age I don't have a lot of hair left to pull out.
