I've just fired it up in a Windows Sandbox and other than sender avatars next to the received message list I can't see any differences.

TBH I do prefer the v8 no avatar layout as space is at a premium where I keep it open and the extra space on the new one will mess my current layout up.

I think you're right. A few UI changes..., other than that, I see no new features.

eM Client 9 eM Client Version 9

eM Client 9 Beta for Windows

Warning: eM Client 9 will update your database so it is highly recommended to make a backup in case you’d like to switch back to eM Client 8 for any reason.
You can easily create a backup via Menu > Backup and when needed, restore via Menu > File > Restore.
Now you can proceed to download and begin testing:

Download eM Client 9 Beta for Windows

Please be aware that the Beta version will only be operational until April 15th, 2022 and you will have to update to a standard eM Client 9 version after that.
No license is required for testing - the Beta runs in a trial mode, so anybody can try it out freely.

Known issues

  • DPI issues with multi-monitor setups
This can cause some icons and other elements in the eM Client UI to have a wrong size.
In case you come across any issues with the Beta version, please make sure to report them to our support team at testing@emclient.com and we will look into each reported problem in detail.

Windows 11 Home - 22H2
Don't over do ... it's weekend. I am lucky, I took early retirement when Covid first struck
I'm also semi-retired.. and on disability I'm just doing the data analysis for fun. I'm scraping the living wage data off of the MIT website and putting it into a MySQL database

eM client always seems slow to load here
My experience has been the same. I have a few programs that are slow to load in Win11. A couple of them I excluded from scanning in windows defender and now they load much faster. Haven't tried that yet with eM client.
