This tutorial will show you how to enable or disable automatically open the Copilot app at startup for your account in Windows 11.
Microsoft Copilot is an AI-powered digital assistant designed to help you with a range of tasks and activities.
When you sign in to Copilot with your Microsoft account Copilot uses your Microsoft account to provide personalized assistance and access by default to a wide range of features. For example, saving and syncing your Copilot chat history on all devices you sign in to Copilot with the same Microsoft account.
Starting with Copilot app version 1.25014.121.0 for Windows 11 Insiders, a new Auto start on login setting is available that will automatically start Copilot at sign-in and run in the background with a Copilot notification icon on the taskbar system tray.

1 Open the Copilot app.
2 While in full view, click/tap on the Account button on the sidebar, and click/tap on Settings. (see screenshot below)
3 Click/tap on Preferences on the left side, and turn on or off (default) Auto start on log in for what you want. (see screenshot below)
1 Open Settings (Win+I). (see screenshot below)
2 Click/tap on Apps on the left side, and click/tap on Startup on the right side. (see screenshot below)
3 Turn On or Off (default) the Copilot app for what you want. (see screenshot below)
The Copilot app will not be listed here if you turned off Auto start on log in in Option One.
4 When finished, you can close Settings if you like.
