Personalization Enable or Disable Delay Send to Context Menu Build in Windows 11

SendTo_banner.webp

This tutorial will show you how to enable or disable delay Send to context menu build for all users in Windows 10 and Windows 11.

The Send to context menu allows you to quickly send a copy of items (ex: files, folders, libraries) to Bluetooth device, Compressed (zipped) folder, Desktop (create shortcut), Documents, Mail recipient, and removable or network drives.

By default, Windows builds the "Send to" menu items every time you open a context menu, which can slightly slow down right-click performance if you have many items there.

Sometimes drives may cause a delay when trying to build the Send to context menu while you are waiting on them to connect or spin back up if turned off after being idle.

If you enable delay Send to menu build, context menus open faster, but "Send to" loads only when hovered or click/tap on.

If you disable delay Send to menu build, "Send to" is built immediately, possibly slowing context menus opening.

You must be signed in as an administrator to enable or disable delay Send to context menu build.
